At the Barclays conference, Lloyds Banking Group unveiled the four-year plan "Accelerate 2030", which foresees £13 billion of cash investment and mid-single-digit percentage medium-term revenue growth. The bank is targeting a cost‑income ratio below 45% and a return on tangible equity of around 20% by 2030. AI is a central part of the strategy: more than 40,000 Copilot licences have already been rolled out and there is an AI revenue target of £100 million for 2026. Lloyds Banking Group issued 2,535,129 ordinary shares between 1 and 28 August to meet allocations under employee share schemes. Lloyds Banking Group appoints Kelly Bennett, effective 1 September, as an independent, non-executive member of the board of directors. Bennett was Chief Marketing Officer at Netflix from 2012–2019 and previously held senior roles at Warner Bros.; she has also advised Microsoft Xbox and the founders of Nubank and is currently chair of the supervisory board at Zalando as well as a venture advisor at Technology Crossover Ventures.
