Regenxbio appoints Greg Ciongoli to board of directors

REGENXBIO appointed Greg Ciongoli to its board of directors with immediate effect. Ciongoli is founder and managing partner of Adiumentum Capital Management, spent more than 16 years at The Baupost Group, and already serves on the boards of Atara Biotherapeutics and Zymeworks. The appointment coincides with the resignations of Jerry Karabelas and Jean Bennett and is intended to strengthen the board’s strategic succession planning. Regenxbio stock plunges after FDA clinical hold for RGX-121

Regenxbio’s shares fell about 24.3% in premarket trading to $8.12 after the FDA imposed a clinical hold on the gene therapy RGX-121 due to asymptomatic spinal MRI findings in five former trial participants. The company does not plan to refile the BLA for RGX-121 in the near future, leaving a key regulatory milestone indefinitely delayed. REGENXBIO places share offering of over $100 million at $9 per share

REGENXBIO is offering 10,003,889 common shares at $9.00 each and 1,111,111 pre-funded warrants at $8.9999 each, which is expected to generate roughly $100 million in gross proceeds before fees. The offering is expected to close on July 20, 2026; the syndicate banks have a 30-day overallotment option for up to 1,667,250 additional shares.
