  • Gore Street Energy Storage Fund rejects winding-up proposals from Saba Capital

The board of Gore Street Energy Storage Fund recommends shareholders vote against two resolutions (Nos. 16 and 17) brought by Saba Capital that call for a cessation of operations and a rapid winding-up. Saba holds around 18% of the ordinary shares; the board warns that a winding-up would destroy value and disrupt ongoing sale processes. The company has announced the sale of its first two assets and is pursuing an updated strategy with quarterly distributions from operating cash flow, selective disposals, and targeted investments in longer battery durations. The annual general meeting will take place on 16 September 2026. » Plus sur de.investing.com

  • Murray International Trust and Saba Capital agree to withdraw from shareholder activism

Murray International Trust has reached an agreement with abrdn Fund Managers and Saba Capital under which Saba will not submit proposals, call a general meeting, vote against board recommendations or engage in short selling until the annual general meeting in 2029 (or until the end of abrdn's management role). Saba also waives attempts to change the board of directors or to exercise control or influence over the executive board and corporate policy. The agreement does not restrict Saba's right to accept or participate in a takeover offer, and was made without financial consideration from the trust. » Plus sur de.investing.com

  • Supreme Court blocks Saba Capital's bid to void closed-end fund bylaws

The Supreme Court rejected Saba Capital's proposal to allow activists to void closed-end fund (CEF) bylaws and sue managers to force changes. The decision, split 6-3, is being seen as a win for CEF managers and investors and has left discounts on highlighted funds (FSCO, ADX, PEO, RGT) largely unchanged. Analysts say the ruling limits activist-driven mandate changes and potential litigation costs that could have widened discounts and raised fees for CEFs. » Plus sur investing.com
