Blue Ant buys Thunderbird Entertainment for $89 million
Blue Ant will acquire all outstanding shares of Thunderbird Entertainment in an $89 million transaction. Thunderbird shareholders can elect to receive 0.2165 subordinate voting shares of Blue Ant per share, $1.77 in cash per share, or a combination; the cash portion is capped at $40 million and the offer represents a 28% premium to the 45-day average share price. Blue Ant expects $7 million of cost synergies in the first year, a strengthening of its studio business in unscripted, animation and children’s and youth content, and plans to close in the first quarter of 2026 subject to approvals.
