Veolia reports Q1 2026 EPS of 0.53 EUR and revenue of 11.4 billion EUR, both slightly below market expectations. Organic revenue grew 2.1%, EBITDA rose organically by 5.1% and the EBITDA margin improved by 73 basis points. Net financial debt stood at 20.8 billion EUR; net free cash flow improved by 144 million EUR. In several federal states (Berlin, Brandenburg, Lower Saxony, Saxony, Thuringia), Verdi has begun a one-day warning strike at Veolia. The union is demanding €300 more per month, experience-based pay levels, and hardship and dirt allowances with a contract term of twelve months; Veolia offered an increase of €0.45 per hour. Veolia describes Verdi’s account as misleading but stresses its willingness to talk and points to wages that are contractually above the minimum wage.
