Just Eat faces tribunal from 7,000 couriers over worker status and pay
More than 7,000 Just Eat couriers have launched an employment tribunal claiming they should be classed as workers entitled to the national minimum wage and holiday pay. The tribunal, running until 2 June, will decide whether couriers are workers or self-employed; judgment is expected later in 2026. The claims follow Just Eat’s 2023 return to a gig-economy model that saw about 1,700 couriers dismissed and are being led by law firm Leigh Day amid wider UK moves to reform gig-economy employment rules. » Plus sur theguardian.com
