Üstra starts first fully autonomous large-bus operation in Burgdorf

In Burgdorf near Hanover, Üstra has put a fully autonomous electric bus of the Karsan model Autonomous e‑ATAK into regular road traffic. The test operation with the Adastec‑approved SAE Level‑4 bus begins with several free rides and is initially limited to a short route with three stops; later a six‑kilometre route with up to 40 km/h and 11 stops is to be trialed. Security personnel accompany the trips, the trial phase runs until the end of the year; Üstra is financially planning for up to three own autonomous buses but does not expect immediate series deployment in public transport. » Plus sur heise.de
