Syngenta and Amoéba agree exclusive distribution for biofungicide AXP20
Syngenta will take over exclusive supply and distribution of Amoéba’s biofungicide AXP20 in the EU, Great Britain, Switzerland and Ukraine (excluding maize). AXP20 is based on the lysate of the amoeba Willaertia magna, inhibits spore germination and strengthens plant defenses against Septoria tritici and yellow rust. Initial market approvals are expected in Q3 2028, with first sales in core markets by the end of 2028 to allow use in spring 2029. The partnership is intended to be expanded long-term to additional crops and regions. » Plus sur finanzen.net
Syngenta boosts operating profit despite slight revenue decline
In the first half of 2026 Syngenta raised operating profit (EBITDA) by 2% to $2.4 billion, even though group revenue fell 2% to $12.2 billion. At constant exchange rates the sales decline would have been 7%, mainly due to a reduction in low‑margin grain trading in China. A focus on higher‑margin businesses improved profitability across all segments and lifted the EBITDA margin by 0.9 percentage points to 19.5%. Revenue drivers were crop protection (+4% to $6.6 billion) and seeds (+1% to $2.5 billion), with strong growth in Brazil while North America and China were down. » Plus sur finanzen.net
