Moody's affirms Baa1 rating for Halyk Bank with stable outlook
Moody’s affirmed Halyk Bank’s long-term local- and foreign-currency deposit ratings at Baa1 on September 9 and kept the outlook stable. The agency cites strong capitalization (TCE/RWA 18.5% as of June 2026), a liquidity buffer equal to 27% of total assets and a return on total capital of more than 4% since 2024. The share of non-performing loans rose to 8.6% (June 2026); Moody’s expects asset quality to stabilize at around 8–9% over the next 12–18 months. Fitch confirms Halyk Bank rating BBB- with stable outlook
Fitch on 9 September affirmed Halyk Bank’s long-term issuer default ratings in foreign and local currency at BBB- with a stable outlook and also assigned a Viability rating of bbb-. The agency cited Halyk Bank’s large market shares in Kazakhstan (around 29–30%), profitability, capitalization and liquidity. S&P raises outlook for Halyk Bank to positive
S&P Global Ratings has raised the outlook for Halyk Bank from "stable" to "positive" and affirmed the long-term issuer rating at BBB-/A-3. The agency also upgraded the country-risk assessment for the Kazakh banking sector from 7 to 6, citing a strengthening of the regulatory framework.
