Ipsen under pressure after Barclays downgrade over profit risks

Ipsen's stock fell about 3.8% after Barclays cut its rating from equalweight to underweight and trimmed its price target from 170 to 155 EUR. Barclays sees Somatuline revenues threatened by generics and potential clinical superiority of CAM2029, along with high reinvestment needs, as the main drivers of falling profits in 2027–2029. Ipsen raises 2026 outlook after sales and earnings increase in first half

Ipsen reported first-half revenue of €2.19 billion (+20.4%) and adjusted EBIT of €844.90 million (+28.8%), both above analysts’ estimates. The core operating margin rose to 38.6% and all three therapy areas contributed to growth beyond Somatuline. The company has raised its 2026 guidance and now expects revenue growth of more than 20% at constant exchange rates and a core operating margin above 37%; a currency headwind of around -1% is expected. Ipsen appoints Catherine Bradley to the board

Ipsen has appointed Catherine Bradley with immediate effect as an independent director on the board. She succeeds a departing member, has been named chair of the audit committee and will serve on the remuneration committee. Bradley brings more than 30 years of investment banking experience and extensive board experience, including roles at Merrill Lynch, Crédit Suisse and BNP Paribas, and has chaired audit committees at several large companies.
