Abivax back in focus among hedge funds after rally — obefazimod brings opportunities and risks

Abivax was a share-price driver in 2025 but is currently trading with high volatility and about 15 percent below the start of the year. The business model is concentrated on obefazimod for chronic inflammatory bowel diseases; a US approval application is planned for this year. Abivax obtains agreement with FDA on approval strategy for obefazimod

Abivax's share rose by 3.7% to €112.5, according to reports, after a pre-New Drug Application meeting with the FDA was successfully completed. The agency confirmed alignment on the submission strategy as well as on the content and format of the NDA dossier for obefazimod in moderate to severe ulcerative colitis. Abivax reiterated its intention to file the approval application by the end of 2026; analyst ratings remain largely positive. Abivax reaches agreement with FDA in pre-NDA process for Obefazimod

Abivax completed the pre-NDA meeting with the US FDA and received constructive feedback that led to agreement on the strategy and on the content and format of the regulatory submission. The company remains on track to file the NDA for Obefazimod by the end of 2026.
