Canal+ secures exclusive UEFA broadcast rights for sub-Saharan Africa
Canal+ has acquired the exclusive broadcast rights for all men’s UEFA club competitions in more than 40 countries in sub-Saharan Africa. Canal+ agrees €980m in cinema investments from 2028
Canal+ has signed a five-year agreement that provides for €980 million in investments in French and European cinema starting in 2028. The deal with film industry associations covers the channels Canal+, Cine+ and OCS and foresees that subscribers will be able to watch films already six months after their theatrical release. Canal+ calls the commitment unprecedented; it comes against the background of earlier tensions with filmmakers around major shareholder Vincent Bollore. Canal+ places €700 million bond maturing 2032
Canal+ has issued a senior unsecured bond of €700 million with maturity in 2032 and an annual coupon of 4.875%. The offering was 3.7 times oversubscribed; net proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes, including refinancing a €500 million bridge loan from December 2025.
