Energy Recovery has secured five new contracts for zero-liquid-discharge (ZLD) reverse-osmosis plants in India to treat industrial wastewater from the textile, photovoltaic, steel and petrochemical sectors. The projects have a combined capacity of 30,000 cubic meters per day and expand the company’s technology deployment to more than 230,000 cubic meters of industrial wastewater per day nationwide. Energy Recovery’s board has appointed Alex Buehler as interim president and CEO effective immediately after David Moon advanced his previously announced resignation for personal reasons. The board is working with an executive search firm to find a permanent successor and is considering internal and external candidates. Buehler served as Energy Recovery’s CFO from 2011 to 2014, was most recently CEO of Integrated Water Services, and currently chairs the board of LiqTech Systems.
