Euroapi to mothball metamizole production in Frankfurt and cut workforce

Euroapi will mothball its production facility for the painkiller metamizole in Frankfurt-Höchst at the end of the year and reduce the number of employees on site from around 750 to under 700. The company is withdrawing from several active ingredients for price-competitiveness reasons and plans to stepwise exit 13 substances by 2027. Across Europe many active-ingredient productions have been shifted in favor of Asian suppliers, which is why France is providing state funds to modernize Euroapi sites.
