Highway Holdings has signed a non-binding letter of intent with Guangdong Huahu New Energy Technology to establish a joint venture in Hong Kong, starting with USD 3.5m (about USD 2.0m cash from Highway, USD 1.5m in products and technology transfer from Huahu). Highway would hold 57% and Huahu 43% of the venture; Huahu is to grant the joint venture exclusive SKD manufacturing, marketing and distribution rights for Germany, Italy, the US and certain South American markets. Highway Holdings’ stock rose sharply (about 87.8%) after the company signed a letter of intent to acquire 51% of German Regent-Feinbau Adermann GmbH.
