Hiscox completes first tranche of $300m buyback programme

Hiscox acquired 6,608,372 ordinary shares for $150 million as part of the first tranche of its announced $300 million buyback programme. The purchases were made between 25 February and 14 August through Peel Hunt; the acquired shares will be cancelled to reduce share capital. Hiscox has revised forecasts for underwriting years 2024 and 2025 for syndicates 33 and 6104. For syndicate 33 the 2024 range was raised to 6.1–16.1% of capacity; capacity is £1,696m, Hiscox holds 73%, and the 2025 forecast remains largely unchanged.
