The Stockholm-listed textile group New Wave Group has signed an agreement to acquire 100% of Uhlsport’s shares; the transaction is expected to close by early October. Uhlsport will remain independent with its headquarters in Balingen, management under Melanie Steinhilber and the brands Uhlsport and Kempa will be retained. Uhlsport most recently generated around €67 million in sales and recorded a small loss; worldwide it employs 224 people, 193 of them in Germany. New Wave Group reported net sales of SEK 2.6 billion in Q2 (+14.6%), an operating profit of SEK 295 million and an operating margin of 11.3%.
