The portal will serve as the primary access for personnel, equipment and materials and will transport ore from the underground workings to the surface facility; a notice of commencement of construction has been filed with the Mine Safety and Health Administration. The company has moved construction equipment to the site, is carrying out detailed planning and expects the portal project to be completed in about nine months.
