Rockhopper plans capital raise to acquire second Sea Lion FPSO

Navitas Petroleum has exercised the option to buy the FPSO OSX-1; acquisition costs are around USD 125 million (excluding refurbishment). Navitas will initially bear 100% of the cost via a special-purpose vehicle until Rockhopper finances its 35% share; completion is expected in September 2026. The additional FPSO could increase Sea Lion’s production capacity by 125,000 bopd, which would deliver Rockhopper a net 43,750 bopd, and is intended to accelerate development of the Central Development Area. Rockhopper Exploration grants stock options to CEO Sam Moody and CFO William Perry

Under the Long Term Incentive Plan 2025, Rockhopper Exploration has issued stock options over 997,044 shares to CEO Sam Moody and 703,013 shares to CFO William Perry at nominal value. The options vest on the third anniversary of the performance period and are subject to an additional one‑year holding period as well as a three‑year total shareholder return (TSR) measurement through 30 June 2029. Rockhopper makes final investment decision for Sea Lion phase 1

Rockhopper has made the final investment decision (FID) for phase 1 of the Sea Lion development north of the Falkland Islands. First oil is planned for 2028; financing needs amount to USD 1.8bn up to start of production and USD 2.1bn to project completion. Project financing envisages USD 1bn of senior debt, of which USD 350m is attributable to Rockhopper; Rockhopper’s net equity requirement is around USD 102m plus about USD 10m for equity overrun support. Phase 1 targets 170m barrels gross production (59.5m barrels net to Rockhopper) with a peak rate of around 50,000 bpd; an independent assessment confirms 917m barrels of 2C resources (321m barrels net to Rockhopper).
