Salzgitter raises profit forecast thanks to Aurubis stake and HKM takeover

Salzgitter has raised its full-year EBITDA forecast to €800–875 million (previously €725–825m) and subsequently saw its shares jump by around ten percent. Drivers are the higher copper price and Aurubis’ pro rata EBITDA contribution of about €252 million in the first nine months, as well as the consolidation of the acquired steelworks HKM, which adds a mid‑double‑digit million amount to EBITDA. Salzgitter has raised its 2026 EBITDA forecast to €800–875 million (previously €725–825m). Drivers are a markedly higher contribution from its stake in Aurubis and the consolidation of fully acquired HKM; underlying operating profit beat the analyst consensus by around 30 percent. Revenue for the first nine months rose to €7.3 billion and EBITDA to €659 million; the group is targeting about €10 billion in revenue for 2026.
