Smartgroup reports double-digit H1 growth, sells majority of fleet assets

Smartgroup reported H1 2026 revenue growth of 13% to AUD 179.5m, EBITDA up 16% to AUD 73.8m, an improved EBITDA margin of 41% and NPATA of AUD 42.4m. The number of novated leasing packages exceeded 500,000, and battery-electric vehicles made up 68% of new leasing orders. The company has agreed to sell the bulk of its self‑funded fleet portfolio to Volkswagen Financial Services, plans a share buyback program of up to AUD 20m and is targeting an EBITDA margin in the mid-40% range for 2027.
