SoFi has announced the stablecoin SoFiUSD, which will be issued by a national U.S. bank on a banking platform and made available directly to members in the SoFi app for buying, selling and holding. SoFiUSD is redeemable 1:1 for U.S. dollars at SoFi Bank; the bank holds the liquid assets to back all outstanding tokens, and regular audits will be conducted by an independent U.S. auditor.
