Südzucker posts profit again after cost cuts and higher ethanol prices

Südzucker recorded a net profit of €61 million in the first half of 2026/27 after a prior-year loss of €60 million. Drivers were higher ethanol prices, a strong specialties business and lower costs; adjusted operating EBITDA rose by around 60% to €303 million. Il segmento Zucchero produce e vende zucchero, prodotti speciali a base di zucchero, sciroppo di glucosio e mangimi per animali destinati all'industria alimentare, alla grande distribuzione e ai mercati agricoli, oltre a offrire sottoprodotti dello zucchero. Il segmento Prodotti Speciali produce ingredienti alimentari funzionali, tra cui fibre alimentari, dolcificanti sostitutivi dello zucchero, zucchero, amidi/farine di riso e proteine di frumento funzionalizzate per le industrie alimentare, dei mangimi, non alimentare e farmaceutica. Il segmento offre inoltre pizze surgelate e refrigerate, pasta, baguette e salse e condimenti; e alimenti porzionati e prodotti non alimentari per hotel, ristorazione collettiva, dettaglianti di alimentari e ristoranti. Il segmento CropEnergies produce etanolo di grado carburante, alcol rettificato, alimenti e mangimi proteici e CO2 liquida per compagnie petrolifere e trader, aziende industriali e farmaceutiche, produttori di alimenti e mangimi e produttori di bevande e cosmetici. Il segmento Amido offre amidi, prodotti di sacccarificazione, etanolo e sottoprodotti, che includono mangimi per animali e fertilizzanti, per le industrie alimentare, cartaria, tessile, chimica industriale, farmaceutica, cosmetica, petrolifera e dei mangimi per animali. Il segmento Frutta produce preparati di frutta per le industrie lattiero-casearia, del gelato, della panificazione e della ristorazione; e concentrati di succo di frutta, succhi puri, vini di frutta, aromi naturali e basi per bevande per l'industria delle bevande. Il gruppo è inoltre attivo nelle attività agricole e nella coltivazione di frumento, barbabietola da zucchero, mais, cicoria, colza, soia e altri prodotti. La società è stata fondata nel 1837 e ha sede a Mannheim, in Germania. Südzucker AG è una controllata di Süddeutsche Zuckerrübenverwertungs-Genossenschaft eG.
