Tesco is weighing the sale of its Central and Eastern Europe operations, which Morgan Stanley says generate £4.6bn in sales but contribute only £115m to EBIT. The division comprises 561 stores in the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia with more than 22,000 employees and reported EBITDA of £264m in fiscal year 2026, with an EBIT margin of around 2.5%.
