UBS upgrades Taiwan to 'Attractive' and confirms MSCI EM target
UBS raises Taiwan's rating from 'Neutral' to 'Attractive' and keeps its MSCI EM index target at 1,920 points through June 2027. The bank expects EPS growth for emerging markets of 62% this year and 18% in 2027; for Taiwan it forecasts about 40% earnings growth in 2026 and 2027, driven by strong, AI-driven demand in the semiconductor supply chain. UBS also sees China, India and Malaysia as 'Attractive' and cites downside risks including a strong US dollar, a disruption to the AI investment cycle, or a pronounced slowdown in corporate spending. » Altro su de.investing.com

UBS share rises: parliament considers lower capital requirements for foreign units
UBS shares gained about 2% after lawmakers considered demanding 70–80% CET1 backing for foreign subsidiaries instead of the 100% proposed by the government. An 80% scenario would reduce the additional capital need from roughly $20bn to about $15bn; a 50% option could eliminate the need to raise further funds. Discussions also cover possible use of AT1 capital and linking a fee for a government liquidity backstop to the capital rules; a compromise between 50% and 100% is seen as possible. » Altro su de.investing.com
