Woolworths Holdings refocuses strategy on food and boosts sales and cash flow in fiscal 2026

Woolworths Holdings reports a currency-neutral sales increase of 4.8% to ZAR 84.5bn, adjusted ADHEPS of ZAR 3.15 (+4.6%), improved free cash flow of ZAR 4.0bn and cash conversion of 105%. Management under CEO Sam Makwambeni plans to concentrate the business on the premium food segment, online omnichannel growth and tighter capital allocation. The food division delivered solid growth and high returns on capital, while Fashion, Beauty and Home experienced margin pressure and a decline in EBIT.
