Adecoagro has completed the cash acquisition of the Caarapó mill from the Raízen group for R$705 million (about $136 million). The mill processed 3.5 million tonnes in the 2025/26 season; the purchase price equates to roughly $39 per tonne of processing capacity. Adecoagro reached an agreement with the Raízen group to buy the Caarapó mill in Mato Grosso do Sul for about 760 million R$ (around 148 million USD). The transaction includes sugarcane plantations and existing supply contracts; in the 2025/26 season the mill processed about 3.5 million tonnes of sugarcane and can produce sugar, hydrous/anhydrous ethanol and renewable energy. The deal will be paid in cash, is subject to customary contractual conditions and requires approval from the Brazilian antitrust authority (CADE); closing is expected before October 1, 2026. Adecoagro reported Q1 2026 EPS of -$0.24, well below the forecast of $0.2054, while revenue of $398.68m exceeded expectations. Adjusted EBITDA rose to $86m, net debt increased to $1.6bn.
