Apex Technology aims to scale assembly-line satellite production with standardized Aries bus

Apex Technology is building a Los Angeles factory to mass-produce standardized small-satellite buses like Aries and Nova, targeting defense and commercial constellation customers and aiming to ramp to 144 satellites a year by 2028. The startup, led by CEO Ian Cinnamon and CTO Max Benassi, has raised $322 million total, secured over $100 million in orders (two-thirds defense), and won a $46 million Space Force contract while competing with in‑house builders like SpaceX and legacy primes.
