Beiersdorf warns of overregulation and seeks growth beyond Nivea
Beiersdorf CEO Vincent Warnery calls for fewer regulatory burdens in the EU and warns that European cosmetics companies could suffer competitive disadvantages because third countries have fewer rules. He specifically criticizes costs from the revision of the EU municipal wastewater directive and the push to remove safe ingredients. Beiersdorf recently recorded sales declines at Nivea and wants to diversify its brand portfolio through acquisitions, but is initially focusing on getting Nivea back to growth. The share briefly rose in XETRA trading. » Więcej na finanzen.net
Beiersdorf warns of overregulation and loss of competitiveness for European cosmetics industry
Beiersdorf CEO Vincent Warnery warns that strict EU rules could threaten the competitiveness of the European cosmetics sector against less-regulated rivals such as the US, China and Korea. He criticizes calls to remove ingredients that are harmless when used normally and the revision of the EU urban wastewater directive, which would financially burden manufacturers more. Warnery emphasizes that European skincare products already meet very high quality standards and says Beiersdorf wants to reduce its dependence on Nivea through organic growth and possible acquisitions. » Więcej na finanzen.net
Deutsche Bank downgrades Beiersdorf to "sell", shares fall
Deutsche Bank downgraded Beiersdorf from "hold" to "sell", citing persistent pressure on consumer spending and structural problems in the consumer staples sector. The stock then fell 1.5% to €75.38 and underperformed the DAX. The bank left its price target at €70 and warned of global shifts in distribution channels (including Amazon, Costco, Walmart) as well as slow consumer budget growth, which are likely to weigh on earnings and valuations. » Więcej na de.investing.com
