Onity Group received regulatory approval to sell servicing rights for about 20,000 Ginnie-Mae reverse mortgages with $5.1 billion of outstanding principal as of March 31, 2026, to Finance of America Reverse. Onity will serve as sub-servicer for three years and Finance of America will also take over the pipeline; Onity will stop originating reverse mortgages after closing. The company expects net proceeds of $70–80 million based on book value as of April 30, 2026.
