  • Hisense Home Appliances shares under pressure after sharp profit and revenue decline in H1

  • Hisense to be first with Dolby Vision 2 on select 2026 TV models

Hisense will roll out Dolby Vision 2 Max and standard Dolby Vision 2 to 2026 UX, UR9, UR8 and U7 TVs, with most updates expected by end of August and completion by end of September. Dolby Vision 2 adds expanded metadata, bidirectional and local tone mapping, an intensity slider and a motion-smoothing feature called Authentic Motion; the format requires new hardware (MediaTek Pentonic 800) so older Dolby Vision TVs cannot be upgraded. Content must be encoded with Dolby Vision 2 metadata for full functionality; Peacock, Canal+ and iQiyi will support it initially, while competing HDR10+ Advanced offers similar features and broader royalty-free support. » Więcej na theverge.com

  • Hisense launches UR9 RGB LED TV priced to compete with flagship OLEDs

Hisense introduced the UR9 RGB LED TV, available in 65–100 inch sizes, with the 65-inch model starting at $3,500. The set delivers bright, accurate HDR, wide color coverage beyond P3 and strong reflection handling, but shows some motion judder and retains LCD drawbacks like blooming and narrower viewing angles compared with OLED. Feature set includes 4K/180Hz, HDMI 2.1, Dolby Vision (Dolby Vision 2 via update) and Google TV, yet its pricing places it directly against high-end OLEDs, making market positioning challenging. » Więcej na theverge.com
