InPost reported a Q2 net profit decline of 30% to 93 million PLN, while adjusted EBITDA rose only 4.4% to 1.04 billion PLN and the margin fell 330 basis points to 25%. Drivers were higher impairments on the parcel locker network, negative currency effects and an almost halved EBITDA performance in the United Kingdom due to ongoing restructuring measures. Revenue grew 18% to 4.18 billion PLN and parcel volume rose 16% to 380.9 million items; the international revenue share was 54% for the first time. A consortium led by FedEx agreed an all-cash offer to buy InPost for €7.8 billion (~$9.2bn), valuing the company at €15.60 per share, a 50% premium to its Jan. 2 price. Under the deal FedEx and Advent would each hold 37%, A&R 16% and PPF 10%, while InPost will continue to operate as a standalone business with Rafal Brzoska as CEO. According to reports, Advent is exploring a partnership with InPost founder and CEO Rafal Brzoska and the PPF Group to potentially take the Amsterdam-listed logistics company private. The three investors together hold about 47.7% of InPost and are in talks about a consortium, which could still fail.
