After selling its Catalyst Technologies business to Honeywell, Johnson Matthey plans a capital return of around £1 billion consisting of a special dividend of about £800 million (476.5 pence per ordinary share) and a share buyback programme of around £200 million. A general meeting to vote on the special dividend, a 3-for-4 share consolidation and the renewal of authorities is scheduled for 11 August; the record date for the dividend is 14 August.
