The supervisory board of KPS has appointed Michael Hessing as an additional board member and chief financial officer (CFO), effective 15 February 2026. At the same time, Leonardo Musso’s term, originally running until 31 December 2026, was extended early by three years and Musso was named chief executive officer (CEO). KPS reported for 2024/25 a revenue decline of about 16% to €121.7m, an EBITDA of €5.2m and a net loss of €21.8m. More than €10m of the charges were non-cash impairments on goodwill and intangible assets; liquidity stands at €9.2m. Goodwill still represents 47% of total assets and equity has shrunk to €27.4m, so further writedowns increase the risk. KPS stock rose almost 60% on December 23 in a short time on sharply increased volume, despite no corresponding company news. Analysts see no fundamental reasons for the surge: in September KPS significantly lowered revenue and EBITDA forecasts and is likely to expect another loss for 2024/25. Market participants instead suspect speculation or takeover hopes as the driver; the half-year financials also raise questions about the recoverability of goodwill.
