Lotus Resources struggles with cost and supply-chain issues as it restarts Kayelekera mine

Lotus Resources reports operational hurdles and rising operating costs while ramping up the Kayelekera uranium mine, which pushed the share price down about 3.2%. The company holds AUD 85 million in cash but recorded high cash outflows and is facing pressures from sharply higher prices for sulfuric acid and sulfur as well as supply-chain disruptions. Technical optimizations and a 14-point plan are driving the restart; the first uranium shipment is targeted for the quarter to end-June 2025, while talks are underway on inventory financing.
