Quilter has appointed Merrill Lynch International to conduct the third and final tranche of its share buyback programme of up to £30m; the purchase period runs from now until 30 November 2026 and may, in certain circumstances, be extended to 17 December 2026. The overall programme was launched on 4 March 2026 with an amount of up to £100m; buybacks totalling £70m have already been completed (£55.3m on the London Stock Exchange, £14.7m in Johannesburg). A total of 37.6m shares have been acquired and cancelled at an average price of 186 pence. Quilter recorded record core net inflows of £6bn in the first half (up 32%), revenue of £379m (up 12%) and adjusted profit of £112m (up 12%); adjusted diluted earnings per share rose 13% to £0.061. Operating margin remained at 30% despite higher costs, the interim dividend was raised 5% to £0.021 and the share buyback programme is about 70% complete. The stock fell about 4.4% early on, with investors blaming rising costs, lower interest income and ongoing investments. Quilter reported core net inflows of £3.1bn for the first quarter of 2026 and an increase in assets under management to £141.9bn, after which the share rose 4.5%. Inflows in the affluent segment amounted to £2.9bn and were 50% above consensus expectations, and the high-net-worth segment also beat forecasts.
