Epson in France taken to court over planned obsolescence

The French public prosecutor has filed charges against Epson after a DGCCRF investigation lasting more than eight years; it is the first case in France concerning planned obsolescence. HOP accuses Epson of causing ink cartridges to report as empty prematurely and of locking devices due to a residual ink pad reported as full, even though usable ink remained. A procedural opening took place on 2 July 2026; the substantive hearing is scheduled for 25 February 2027. If convicted, the company faces fines starting at €300,000 up to five percent of annual turnover, as well as prison terms for responsible individuals; Epson denies the allegations. » Więcej na golem.de
Epson receives "Red Dot: Design Team of the Year 2026"

Epson was awarded the title "Red Dot: Design Team of the Year 2026" in recognition of its consistent, human-centered design across printing, projection and robotics products. A selection of prize-winning Epson products will be on display at the Red Dot Design Museum in Essen from 8 July to 16 August 2026. Epson introduces A3 color inkjet multifunction system WorkForce Enterprise AM-C10000

Epson has introduced the WorkForce Enterprise AM-C10000, an A3 color inkjet multifunction system designed for high-volume office and managed print environments. The device uses Heat-Free inkjet technology, reaches up to 100 pages per minute, offers high paper and ink capacities, and includes optional finishing and SRA3 support. According to Epson, the AM-C10000 reduces energy consumption by up to 93% compared with comparable laser systems and is made from more than 30% recycled plastic; central print management and workflow solutions as well as RIP software are also offered. » Więcej na finanzen.net
