Shanghai Electric: 600-MW CAES plant in Jiangsu fully operational

The world’s likely largest compressed-air energy storage (CAES) facility in the Huai'an salt caverns in Jiangsu has reached full operation. The plant consists of two 300-MW units, has a storage capacity of 2,400 MWh, is expected to deliver 792 million kWh annually and supply about 600,000 households. Shanghai Electric cites an efficiency of 71 percent, CO₂ savings of roughly 600,000 tonnes per year and construction costs of about 520 million US dollars. » Więcej na heise.de
Shanghai Electric upgraded to Baa2 by Moody’s on improved financial position

Moody’s has raised the rating of Shanghai Electric Holdings Group and its subsidiary to Baa2 and maintained a positive outlook. The upgrade is based on sustained EBITDA growth, debt reduction, and a strong order backlog, supported by the likelihood of government support.
