The Walt Disney Company faces compensation claim over Disney+ 4K and HDR removal

Euroconsumers has issued a formal notice to The Walt Disney Company on behalf of subscribers in Italy, Belgium and Portugal, demanding automated monthly fee reductions and retroactive credits of at least €5 per month after court-driven removal of Dolby Vision, 4K UHD and HDR10 from Disney+. The notice argues Disney failed to inform or compensate affected premium subscribers and gives the company 14 days to comply before requesting fines up to 4% of annual turnover. Character.AI files for Chapter 11 and proposes $20 million asset sale to Disney

Character.AI has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, listing estimated liabilities of $50–100 million and seeking to sell its assets. Disney is the lead bidder, offering $20 million for certain assets, a nonexclusive IP license and transition support while hiring several former employees including ex-CEO Karandeep Anand.
