Walt Disney: Disney+ achieves operating margin of 13% and focuses on revenue growth

Walt Disney said at the Goldman Sachs conference that Disney+ recently reached an operating margin of 13% and has moved from annual losses to sustainable profitability. Management is shifting the focus from pure margin improvement to revenue and absolute operating income growth and is targeting adjusted EPS growth of 12% for the current fiscal year as well as continued double‑digit growth through 2027. Disney+ disables Chromecast control in Germany and the Netherlands after patent ruling

Disney+ has disabled smartphone streaming control for older Chromecast models in Germany and the Netherlands, apparently as a result of a UPC ruling that found Disney had unlawfully used patent EP 2080349. Affected subscribers were reportedly not informed and only discover the restriction when playing content. The shutdown follows earlier limitations such as the removal of Dolby Vision; consumer advocates see possible claims for refunds if subscription prices remain unchanged.
