Tsingtao reported a first-half revenue decline of 4.1% to 19.655 billion RMB, while net profit attributable to shareholders rose only 0.4% to about 3.92 billion RMB, falling well short of expectations. In the second quarter the metrics deteriorated further: revenue down roughly 6.7% and net profit down about 3.4%, weighed down by bad weather and a weak hospitality/restaurant business. Paulaner Brauerei Gruppe has entered a long-term cooperation with Tsingtao to expand its business in China. The agreement covers the import and exclusive distribution of Paulaner "Münchner Hell" and local production of a lager beer developed for China, brewed with original German hops and according to the Bavarian Purity Law (Reinheitsgebot).
