Ubisoft announced the closure of its development sites in Winnipeg and Belgrade; about 380 positions could be cut as a result. The move is intended to reduce costs after the company posted roughly €1.3 billion in losses in 2025 and the stock lost more than 20 percent in 2026. With further savings and restructurings already under way, Ubisoft aims to lower ongoing costs by about €500 million per year by March 2028; additional personnel measures are likely. Ubisoft shares fell as much as around 35% and trading was briefly halted after the company announced a deep reorganization of its development capacity in so-called creative houses. The shift leads to project cancellations, game delays and a significant downward revision of guidance for 2025/26: Net Bookings are now expected at about €1.5 billion instead of €2 billion. Ubisoft anticipates write-downs of roughly €650 million, an operating loss of about €1 billion and a shrinking cash balance of around €1.25–1.35 billion. Ubisoft confirmed Rainbow Six Siege was compromised and has taken the game servers and marketplace offline while it investigates. Attackers unlocked all in-game items, granted every player 2 billion R6 Credits (roughly $13.33 million in cash value) and gained control over moderation functions.
