Zurich Insurance Group offers 1,310 pence per Beazley share plus an interim dividend of 25 pence (1,335 pence in total), paying about £8.1 billion in cash — a 59.8% premium to the closing price on 16 January 2026. The merger will create a specialty insurer with pro-forma gross written premiums of around $15 billion in the specialty segment. Beazley’s board unanimously recommends the transaction; completion is expected in the second half of 2026, subject to shareholder, court and regulatory approvals. Zurich has tabled a takeover offer for Australian life insurer Clearview, offering 0.65 AUD per share, valuing Clearview at about 415 million AUD (249 million EUR). Clearview’s board has unanimously recommended accepting the offer, and largest shareholder Crescent Capital Partners (25.4%) has signalled support. Zurich reports an operating profit of nearly $8.9 billion for 2025 (+14%) and a net profit of $6.8 billion (+17%), both record highs and above expectations. The dividend is raised by 2 francs to 30 francs per share.
