The US State Department has designated Ceiba Investments as an SDN under Executive Order 14404 for acquiring 51% of Inmobiliaria Monte Barreto from an indirect GAESA subsidiary. Ceiba says negotiations began in 2017 and the transaction was completed in April 2026, before GAESA was listed, and was financed with onshore funds; the company intends to apply for delisting.
