Mondi Finance has launched a buyback offer for its guaranteed bonds of €600 million (maturity 27 April 2026, coupon 1.625%). The buyback price is 99.75% of nominal plus accrued interest; the offer runs from 16 to 23 October 2025, with expected settlement on 28 October 2025. The UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has approved the supplementary prospectus dated 15 October 2025 for Mondi Finance's guaranteed Euro Medium Term Note programme with a volume of €3,000,000,000. The supplementary prospectus should be read together with the base prospectus dated 7 March 2025 and has been filed with the National Storage Mechanism; it will soon be available via the FCA data portal. Moody’s has affirmed Mondi’s long-term issuer rating at Baa1 but downgraded the outlook from “stable” to “negative.” The reason is persistently weak operating performance, a disappointing trading update for Q3, and a deterioration in credit metrics (adjusted gross debt/EBITDA close to 3.0x and retained cash flow/debt below 30%). Moody’s points to a sector downturn in the paper and packaging industry but sees rating supports in Mondi’s diversified profile, cost-efficient asset base, and strong liquidity.
