NTPC raises Q4 profit sharply despite falling revenues

Bernstein sees sharp rise in power demand in India from H2 2026 and favors NTPC

Bernstein forecasts that power demand in India will rise more strongly than expected in the second half of 2026. The broker favors the stock of NTPC and expects Larsen & Toubro to benefit from construction contracts for thermal and nuclear power plants. NTPC raises Q3 2026 profit thanks to expansion of renewable energy

NTPC reported in Q3 of FY2026 a rise in profit after tax of 5.85% to 4,987 crore INR, with a slight decline in standalone total income to 41,673 crore INR. The company commissioned several renewable projects, including a 3.7‑MW solar project in Ladakh, and increased capacity in the quarter by 1,744 MW.
