Bank of America rates Brazilian telecom stocks as promising as the Supreme Court hears arguments on the Fistel tax from May 8 to 15. In an optimistic scenario TIM would achieve an implicit NPV upside of around 8%; in the base case the bank assumes full settlement of past debts and only 50% reinstatement of future levies. Tim S.A. has revised its 2026 strategy plan and forecasts service revenue growth of around 5% and EBITDA growth of 6–8% year over year. The company plans nominal capex of R$4.4–4.6bn (excluding any potential new spectrum allocations) and expects operational cash flow to increase by 11–14%. The management board of Tim S.A. has decided to cancel 28,678,509 previously repurchased treasury shares. The share capital will not be reduced as a result; the number of ordinary shares will thereafter be 2,392,125,889. Article 5 of the articles of association is to be adjusted to the new share number at the next annual general meeting.
