Google has signed long-term power purchase agreements with Constellation Energy totaling 3.59 gigawatts: 890 MW of new capacity from upgrades to eleven reactor units (20 years) and 2.7 GW from existing plants (15 years). Constellation plans about $4.3 billion in investments to expand and modernize nuclear plants, expects to secure roughly 4,400 jobs and to create around 7,200 new positions during the construction phase. Google agreed to a 20-year power purchase deal with Constellation to fund efficiency upgrades at 11 reactors across six sites in Illinois, Pennsylvania and New Jersey, prompting about $4.3 billion in investment and an expected 890 MW of added nuclear capacity over five years. The sites connect to the PJM grid, where rising AI data center demand has strained capacity and pushed electricity prices higher.
