Anixa Biosciences: two clinical cancer programs show encouraging early data
At the H.C. Wainwright conference, Anixa Biosciences presented positive early data for its CAR‑T program in ovarian cancer (14 patients treated; one survived 28 months, several >1 year vs expected ~12 weeks) and for a breast cancer vaccine that completed phase I with 35 patients and showed immune responses in ~75%. The company has $14M in cash, an annual burn rate of $5–7M, is debt‑free, and plans to out‑license both programs to partners after clinical success rather than build a large commercial infrastructure. Next clinical steps are dose escalation for the CAR‑T and moving the vaccine into phase II with a randomized neoadjuvant design. » Mais em de.investing.com
Anixa has treated first patient in fifth cohort with highest CAR‑T dose in ovarian cancer
Anixa has treated the first patient in the fifth cohort of its Phase 1 study at Moffitt Cancer Center with 1×10^7 CAR‑positive cells/kg, the highest dose level tested to date. No dose‑limiting toxicities were observed at the previous dose level (3×10^6/kg). The Lira‑Cel therapy targets the follicle‑stimulating hormone receptor and has shown long‑term survival of up to more than two years in some patients. The stock recently rose 14.7% to $3.27, with a market capitalization of $111 million. » Mais em de.investing.com
Anixa secures patent for breast cancer vaccine in South Korea
The Korean Intellectual Property Office granted Anixa the patent (No. 10-2960889) for its breast cancer vaccine technology, providing protection in South Korea until 2040. The technology, exclusively licensed from the Cleveland Clinic, aims at prevention and treatment by immunization against human α-Lactalbumin. A phase‑1 study met all primary endpoints, was safe, well tolerated and showed an immune response in 74% of participants. Anixa remains clinically unbalanced but has more liquid assets than debt; analysts see price targets of $7–14 versus the current level of about $2.79. » Mais em de.investing.com
