Grupo Carso signs agreement with Pemex to develop Macavil field

Grupo Carso has signed a contract with state energy company Pemex to develop the onshore Macavil field, discovered in 2024, in southern Mexico. The joint venture, formed by subsidiary Zamajal, will produce condensate and natural gas; Pemex will receive at least a 40% stake. According to Grupo Carso, proved reserves are 33.7 million barrels of condensate and 409.1 billion cubic feet of gas, and initial results are expected in 2027, subject to studies still to be completed.
