Kadant names Michael Colwell as CEO successor

Kadant shares fell about 1% in after-hours trading following the announcement of an orderly CEO succession plan. Michael Colwell will become president and COO on October 1, 2026, and will assume the offices of president, CEO and director on January 2, 2027. Incumbent Jeffrey Powell will remain CEO until January 2, 2027, when he will move into the role of executive chairman; a later transition to a non‑executive chairman role is planned. Jonathan Painter will step down as board chairman on January 2, 2027.
